Sara Belo (Lisboa, 1989) é artista visual e investigadora. Doutorou-se em Pintura pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, em 2023, com a dissertação "O Sopro Mudo das Imagens: Estudo sobre a impropriedade do gesto artístico". É Professora Adjunta no Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia (IPLUSO) e investigadora no Centro de Investigação e Estudos em Belas Artes (CIEba). Expõe regularmente desde 2016, individualmente e com o colectivo artístico humor líquido, que integra desde a sua formação. Na sua pintura, investiga o processo de construção da imagem, procurando intensificar a tensão constitutiva entre a matéria (tinta, suportes, texturas, etc.) e a possibilidade de figuração, entre o inerte e a capacidade de dar vida. A sua investigação teórica incide sobre as noções de mimese e alteridade implicadas no processo criativo e na experiência artística. Recentemente, articula a investigação artística e teórica com questões pedagógicas, reflectindo sobre o potencial formativo das práticas artísticas na infância.

She received her PhD in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon in 2023, with her dissertation "O Sopro Mudo das Imagens: Estudo sobre a impropriade do gesto artístico". She is an Adjunct Professor at the Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia (IPLUSO) and a researcher at Center for Research and Studies of the Fine Arts (CIEba). She has been exhibiting regularly since 2016, individually but also with the artistic collective humor líquido, which she has been a member of since its formation. In her painting, she investigates the process of image construction, seeking to intensify the constitutive tension between matter (paint, supports, textures, etc.) and the possibility of figuration, between the inert and the capacity to give life. Her theoretical research focuses on the notions of inspiration, mimesis, alterity and transmission involved in the creative act. Her research focuses on the notions of mimesis and alterity involved in the creative process and the artistic experience.
