Maria Teresa Projecto é artista e investigadora, doutorada em Belas Artes pela Universidade de Lisboa, com co-orientação em Filosofia pela Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, e uma dissertação sobre o conceito de sublime e a noção de representação artística. É docente na Escola Superior de Comunicação, Inovação e Artes (IPLUSO) e investigadora no Centro de Estudos de Sociologia e Estética Musical (CESEM), bem como do Centro de Investigação e Estudos em Belas Artes (CIEba). A sua investigação teórica e artística abrange a relação entre estética, arte e política, através da teoria da arte, da filosofia, da teoria crítica e dos estudos de performance, com enfoque nas noções de representação, interpretação e, recentemente, sob a lente do pós-colonialismo e da decolonialidade. É autora de várias traduções (Nidesh Lawtoo, Georges Bataille, Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe, Pascal Quignard) e prepara actualmente a uma monografia intitulada ‘Pintar o tempo: no rasto do sublime’, baseada na sua dissertação de doutoramento. Maria Teresa Projecto is an artist and a researcher, with a PhD in Fine Arts granted by the University of Lisbon, with a co-supervision in Philosophy by the NOVA University of Lisbon, and a dissertation on the concept of the sublime and the notion of artistic representation. She is a Professor at the School of Communication, Innovation and Arts (IPLUSO) and a Collaborating Researcher at the Center for the Study of Sociology and Aesthetics of Music (CESEM), as well as the Center for Research and Studies of the Fine Arts (CIEba). Her theoretical and artistic investigations encompass the relationship between aesthetics, art and politics, through art theory, philosophy, critical theory and performance studies, with a focus on the notions of representation, interpretation, and recently under the lenses of post-colonialism and decoloniality. She is the author of several translations (Nidesh Lawtoo, Georges Bataille, Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe, Pascal Quignard), and is currently preparing a monograph entitled ‘Painting time: chasing the sublime’, based on her doctoral dissertation.
